The competition was won by architect Rem Koolhaas, which presented a bold and polemic project. The constructively difficult and technologically demanding building, revealed to have great impact. An asymmetrical polyhedron in white concrete, with no relation to the context in which it is set, brought to the city, the debate on the new expressive forms of contemporary architecture.
