MORE DETAILS:
This infrastructure, from the beginning of the 1980’s, was the work that propelled architect Eduardo Souto Moura onto a notable journey in Portuguese and European architecture.
The intervention is covered in a minimalist character, simple in its response to the given program and rigorous in the control of proportions, where more than propose it was necessary to hide.
The building is structured by two walls, one in concrete and the other in stone, on which a copper roof is placed.
The establishment of the new volume, that naturally occupied the limit of the land, hides itself to potentiate and value the existing garden.
