MORE DETAILS:
The building is situated close to the Carcavelos toll booths and presents itself as a rectangular prism that seems to float exhibiting its shine and reflexes provoked by the finishes in solar panels of its East, South and West façades. This architectural solution, according to its authors, presents itself as an efficient climatization solution from an energetic point of view and with a reduced environmental impact
The north façade seems to oppose the apparent technological character suggested by the modulation of the pannels, without any openings and covered in volcanic stone.
The operations room, with and area of 450m2 and a ceiling height of 9m, occupies both floors of the building and constitutes its main space. In the lower floor, are the technician’s rooms, the technical room and the archive. The above floor is composed of work offices, the auditorium and the cafeteria.
The entrance is done through the courtyard, where there is an esplanade that extends from the bar area inside, a water feature and a bamboo curtain. _______________________________________________
