The Western façade shows a singular wavy form that seems to act as a reflex of the existing salt pans in the landscape. The interior presents areas with differentiated ceiling heights, resulting from the vertical emptiness that allow the light, that penetrates through the system of conical skylights existing in the roof, to be indirectly lead to all the spaces. The objective set forth by Álvaro Siza Vieira, was to allow that all the reading places be illuminated by natural light. _______________________________________________
